About Rah Digga

Rah Digga (born Rashia Fisher) is a Grammy-nominated rapper, writer, actress, and cultural leader widely respected as one of Hip Hop’s most formidable lyricists. Best known as a key member of the legendary Flipmode Squad led by Busta Rhymes, she has long been celebrated for her sharp pen and commanding delivery. AllMusic once called her “one of rap’s most prominent women MCs,” while the book How to Rap recognizes her as one of Hip Hop’s most skilled female lyricists.

Rah Digga first emerged as a member of the Outsidaz, a collective that included Eminem, before being handpicked by Q-Tip of A Tribe Called Quest to join Flipmode Squad after witnessing an eighth month pregnant performance at a Lyricist Lounge showcase. Her critically acclaimed debut album Dirty Harriet cemented her place in Hip Hop history, and she has since collaborated with major artists including Mariah Carey and performed as a guest at Michael Jackson’s 30th Anniversary Celebration at Madison Square Garden.

Beyond music, Rah Digga has built a multifaceted career across film, television, podcasting, and community leadership. She appeared in the Joel Silver sci-fi thriller Thirteen Ghosts and MTV’s hip-hop opera Carmen: A Hip Hopera starring Beyoncé.

A proud Newark, New Jersey native, Rah Digga is deeply committed to youth mentorship and cultural education. She launched the Lyrics Matter Foundation in 2015, a nonprofit that provides young creatives with opportunities to learn music production, lyric writing, entrepreneurship, and S.T.E.A.M. concepts through Hip Hop culture. Through workshops, community programming, and live events like the Salon Series, she continues to empower the next generation of artists and innovators.

Among many honors throughout her career, Rah Digga received the Key to the City of Newark on the day her debut album was released. Today she remains a powerful voice in Hip Hop—balancing music, media, education, and activism while continuing to influence the culture she helped shape.

Rah has been the recipient of several prominent awards for her work in the music field but her most cherished acknowledgement was being presented the Key to the City of Newark by former Mayor Sharpe James on the day of her debut album release back in 2000.

It’s clear that wherever her endeavors or life journeys carry her, Rah always makes her way back home!
